FISHERS OF MEN:
"Behold, I will send for
many fishers, saith the LORD, and
they shall fish them; and after will I
send for many hunters, and they
shall hunt them from every
mountain, and from every hill, and
out of the holes of the rocks" (Jer
16:16).
The fishing period is by far
the greatest number of years, during
which the disciples of our Lord and
His Church willingly gave their time
and energy to - proclaim the Gospel
of personal salvation. "And Jesus,
walking by the sea of Galilee, saw
two brethren, Simon called Peter,
and Andrew his brother, casting a
net into the sea: for they were
fishers. And He saith unto them,
Follow Me, and I will make you
fishers of men" (Matt 4:18-19).
Through the followers of our
Lord, His Holy Spirit has been
calling men and women to repent of
their sins and accept the Lord Jesus
Christ as their personal Saviour.
This was the great commission that
was given to the disciples. The call
to repentance is the most important -
as the individual is concerned. The
Apostle Peter said, "Repent ye
therefore, and be converted, that
your sins may be blotted out, when
the times of refreshing shall come
from the presence of the Lord; And
He shall send Jesus Christ, which
before was preached unto you:
Whom the heaven must receive until
the times of restitution of all things,
which God hath spoken by the
mouth of all His holy prophets since
the world began" (Acts 3:19-21).
History has shown that the
fishing period reached a definite
climax during the 19th Century.
Then came the time for the hunting
period.
A CALL FOR HUNTERS:
A new type of Christian
witnessing was needed to fulfill the
requirements which would identify
the next phase of witnessing in the
Christian era. Who were these
hunters hunting? None other then
those who had lost their identity -
The ten lost tribes of the Kingdom
of Israel. They are the lost sheep of
the House of Israel.
The fishing period required
the patience and endurance that was
over 1900 years, but the hunting
period is at the end of the age.
These are the two different methods
by which an appeal would be made
to the House of Israel. The hunters
and their activity would be at the
end of the Gospel period. Their job
was to identify the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic people with the Northern ten-tribes of the Kingdom of Israel.
John Wilson, a contemporary of
William Miller of advent fame,
formulated the historical and
prophetical arguments upon which
the Israelitish origin of the Anglo-Saxon race is demonstrable. John
Wilson pointed out the marks of
identification which enable men to
seek out and find the House of Israel
in the world today.
The task of the hunters was
to complete the finding of the
Anglo-Saxon, or I-Sac-Sons - the
sons of Isaac and show them to be
the lineal descendants of their father
Isaac, through the northern ten-tribe
Kingdom of Israel.
Because most of the
churches of this world has failed to
understand the significance of the
true identification of Israel today,
they think that only the country of
Israel are Israelites! As most
readers of the "Prove All Things"
magazine, know already the country
of Israel is the nation known as the
House of Judah!
Throughout the hunting
period the nation of the message
changed. It became nations in
scope, and Israel was sought and
found as a nation and company of
Nations. This hunting period was to
be a national awakening to their
responsibilities as the Israel of God.
The objective of the Gospel of the
Kingdom was to proclaim that the
hunters completed their search for
the "lost sheep." "Arise, shine; for
thy light is come, and the glory of
the LORD is risen upon thee. For,
behold, the darkness shall cover the
earth, and gross darkness the people:
but the LORD shall arise upon thee,
and his glory shall be seen upon
thee" (Isa 60:1-2).
Now, we have entered into
the time of the greatest apostasy the
world has ever known! The
darkness of unbelief has all but
blotted our genuine faith - resulting
into deception and perversion
emanating from politicians,
professors, theologians and church
which have accepted doctrines from
the bottomless pit!
A CALL FOR WATCHMEN:
Just as the Fishing Period
ended , so the Hunting Period began
to wane. God called for watchmen
to be placed over the House of Israel
to warn them of the coming of the
sword.
"Again the word of the LORD came
unto me, saying, Son of man, speak
to the children of thy people, and say
unto them, When I bring the sword
upon a land, if the people of the land
take a man of their coasts, and set
him for their watchman: If when he
seeth the sword come upon the land,
he blow the trumpet, and warn the
people; Then whosoever heareth the
sound of the trumpet, and taketh not
warning; if the sword come, and
take him away, his blood shall be
upon his own head. He heard the
sound of the trumpet, and took not
warning; his blood shall be upon
him. But he that taketh warning
shall deliver his soul. But if the
watchman see the sword come, and
blow not the trumpet, and the people
be not warned; if the sword come,
and take any person from among
them, he is taken away in his
iniquity; but his blood will I require
at the watchman's hand. So thou, O
son of man, I have set thee a
watchman unto the house of Israel;
therefore thou shalt hear the word at
My mouth, and warn them from
Me" (Ezek 33:1-7).
Who are to be the watchmen
today? Those who understand the
truth of the Gospel of the Kingdom
and are aware of the identity of the
people of God's Kingdom. We, as a
Church of God are to be warning the
people of God's plan of salvation
and the need to return to Him with
all of our heart, soul and mind!
There is only one way to
seek God's full protection and
that is through the obedience to
God's laws and keeping the
requirements of His covenant.
The first duty of a watchman is
to call Israel's attention to their
job. The task of the watchman is
a lonely one, because often those
who should support them shun them
as "prophets of doom." It is not a
pleasant task to warn of evil to
come, for men dislike to hear
unpleasant truth and are seldom
willing to face disturbing facts. The
prime requirement of a watchman is
vigilance, he must be constantly
alert during the long hours between
midnight and dawn. This is the time
that it is most difficult to stay
awake!! The Apostle Paul warned:
"Therefore let us not sleep, as do
others; but let us watch and be
sober. For they that sleep sleep in
the night; and they that be drunken
are drunken in the night" (1Thess
5:6-7).
We are now in the period of
darkness of night where evil spirits
are working to destroy God's people
and all hell is about to break loose in
terrorism and destruction, for evil
know that it's time is short and the
day of judgment is about to come.
There are Satanic forces at work - so
each of God's people must be alert
to guard against this evil. Paul
advised God's watchmen to put on
the full armor of God!
"Finally, my brethren, be strong in
the Lord, and in the power of His
might. Put on the whole armour of
God, that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil. For we
wrestle not against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against
spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole
armour of God, that ye may be able
to withstand in the evil day, and
having done all, to stand. Stand
therefore, having your loins girt
about with truth, and having on the
breastplate of righteousness; And
your feet shod with the preparation
of the gospel of peace; Above all,
taking the shield of faith, wherewith
ye shall be able to quench all the
fiery darts of the wicked. And take
the helmet of salvation, and the
sword of the Spirit, which is the
word of God" (Eph 6:10-17).
Just as the prophet Jeremiah
[God's watchman] had to stand
alone for the truth, we must be
prepared to stand alone! "O LORD,
Thou knowest: remember me, and
visit me, and revenge me of my
persecutors; take me not away in
Thy longsuffering:
know that for Thy
sake I have suffered
rebuke. Thy words
were found, and I did
eat them; and Thy
word was unto me the
joy and rejoicing of
mine heart: for I am
called by Thy name,
O LORD God of
hosts. I sat not in the
assembly of the
mockers, nor rejoiced;
I sat alone because of
Thy hand: for Thou
hast filled me with indignation" (Jer
15:15-17).
A special privilege has been
given to all those whom God has
chosen as watchmen. They need not
be discouraged no matter how their
message is received. Christ and the
Father has bestowed a wonderful
reward to those who remain faithful
to their calling!
"Who then is a faithful
and wise servant, whom his
Lord hath made ruler over His
household, to give them meat
in due season? Blessed is that
servant, whom His Lord when
He cometh shall find so doing.
Verily I say unto you, That He
shall make him ruler over all
His goods" (Matt 24:45-47).
Church of God, In Truth
The spirit of freedom is the
legacy and birthright of every citizen
of the United States of America.
Our liberty, not won and preserved
with ease, indifference or
selfishness, rather has been forged in
the fires of self sacrifice, loyalty,
courage and wisdom with a vision
dedicated to a United States of
America, forever free.
The total sacrifice of
patriotic men and women for our
great nation can never be measured
nor can we every fully comprehend
their precious gift of freedom.
Because these patriots of the
past believed enough in a free
United States of America to
safeguard, with their lives if
necessary, its spirit of freedom, we
of today enjoy that legacy. Our
liberties, as guaranteed in the
Constitution, will continue to
survive only if we and each
succeeding generation, elect to serve
our country with courage, loyalty
and wisdom, and so preserve forever
- the spirit of freedom.
