QUESTION AND ANSWER
Shalom Mr. Russell,
In going over next years Calendar, there is something I do not understand.
Maybe you can explain it too me.
If we start the year at Mar 8, 2016 1st month, and the 7th Month starts Aug 31st, then all the Feast Days for
the Fall would be in the Summer.
The Fall Equinox is the 22nd and it falls after the LGD.
So all the Fall Feast would fall in the Summer.
Have I missed something here?
Thank you for explaining this too me.
I don't I guess understand something.
And I will admit I do not.
Because as I see it this makes the Fall Feast ahead of the Fall Equinox.
Thank you for explaining this too me.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your questions about the 2016 calendar. As you noted the 1st day of the new year is March 8th.
And the seventh month begins on Aug. 31st. Aug. 31st on the Gregorian calendar, but God’s months starts at the
beginning of the year and we count new moons from month 1. God numbers the month. Moses named the 1st
month Abib=meaning green ears. Ex 12:1-3, “ The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, 2 "This month
is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. 3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the
tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb for his family, one for each household. (from New
International Version).
In God’s word, there is only summer and winter. Gen 8:22, “While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest,
and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” And in, Ps 74:16-18, “The day
is thine, the night also is thine: Thou hast prepared the light and the sun. Thou hast set all the borders of the earth:
thou hast made summer and winter.” Spring and fall was later added by astronomers.
God’s Word does not say that the 7th month Feast of Tabernacles Holy Days have to start after the fall equinox
[Turn of the year]. God’s word says to keep the Feast of Tabernacles AT THE TURN, not on for after! The
meaning of the Feast of Tabernacles is after the harvest. Ex 34:21-22, "Six days you shall labor, but on the
seventh day you shall rest; even during the plowing season and harvest you must rest. Celebrate the Feast of
Weeks with the firstfruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year” (from New
International Version) As you can see there is no scripture that says we have to keep the Feast after the fall
equinox!
In the new “Special Calendar Edition” on pages,11 & 12, talks about the reason for using AT the turn of the year
for keeping the Feast of Tabernacles. And page 46 has an explanation of “God’s Planned Parameters” and why
they keep the Holy Days from falling out of step with the turn of the years.
God in His word uses the count of the days for God’s appointed . Lev. 23 gives the count for these appointed
feast of God!
Lev 23:1-8
“The LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'These are my appointed feasts, the
appointed feasts of te LORD, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies. "'There are six days when you
may work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work;
wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the LORD. "'These are the LORD's appointed feasts, the sacred assemblies
you are to proclaim at their appointed times: The LORD's Passover begins at twilight on the fourteenth day of
the first month. On the fifteenth day of that month the LORD's Feast of Unleavened Bread begins; for seven days
you must eat bread made without yeast. On the first day hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work. For
seven days present an offering made to the LORD by fire. And on the seventh day hold a sacred assembly and
do no regular work.'" (from New International Version)
Lev 23:23-25
“The LORD said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites: 'On the first day of the seventh month you are to have a day
of rest, a sacred assembly commemorated with trumpet blasts. Do no regular work, but present an offering made
to the LORD by fire.” (from New International Version)
Lev 23:26-27
“The LORD said to Moses, "The tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. (from New
International Version)
Lev 23:33-36
“The LORD said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites: 'On the fifteenth day of the seventh month the LORD's Feast
of Tabernacles begins, and it lasts for seven days. The first day is a sacred assembly; do no regular work. For
seven days present offerings made to the LORD by fire, and on the eighth day hold a sacred assembly and present
an offering made to the LORD by fire. It is the closing assembly, ...” (from New International Version)
God’s word says to count the days! Beginning with Gen. 1:3-5..
Hope this explanation will be of help to you!
Sincerely,
Jim Russell
