MANY ARE CALLED // FEW ARE CHOSEN
In the book of Proverbs is advice for us to take heed on. “He that speaks truth shows forth righteousness:
but a false witness deceit” ( Pro12:17). Proverbs also says, “Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way
of Understanding” (Pro 9:6 ).
Truth, wisdom, instruction, and understanding are all related terms. Proverbs 9, verse 10 says, “The fear
of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding.”
Addressing Matthew 25, we will read what took place while the 5 foolish virgins went to buy their oil of
truth. “And while they the 5 foolish virgins went to buy, “the truth, wisdom, instruction and understanding”
the Bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him to the marriage: and the door was shut"
(Matt 25:10).
Clearly “They that were ready went in with Christ to the Marriage. No mention here of a marriage supper that
usually takes place after a marriage. This word ready is Strong's # 2092 - 2090 - 2680, meaning, prepared,
ready at hand, receive one coming. This same word ready is used in Rev 19:7. “Let us be glad and rejoice,
and give honour to Him: for the Marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife has made herself Ready.” The
significance of that verse is, those who are ready go in with Jesus, the Christ to the marriage ( no wedding
supper, mentioned here either). Verse 9 says, "And He saith unto me, write, blessed are they which are
Called, [speaking of all 10 virgins]. Called is Strong's # 2564- simply meaning to call. Christ used this word
in Matt 22:14, when He said, "many are called but few are chosen." Meaning: selected, favorite, or elected,
Strong's # 1588).
Reading Revelation 19:9 again from the beginning, “And He saith unto me, write blessed are they which are
Called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And He saith unto me, these are the true sayings of God." In
Verse 7, speaks of Jesus, the Christ's marriage and His wife having made herself ready, verse 9 speaks of the
wedding supper [reception] that take place after the ceremonial marriage.
Continuing on with verses 11 and 12 of Matthew 25, “Afterward came also the other foolish virgins, saying,
Lord, Lord, open to us. But He answered and said, verily I say unto you, I know you not.” A message of hope
is addressed in Luke 12, to those 5 foolish remnant virgins that were not ready in time for the marriage.
These are the same ones that we read of in Rev 12:17, that keep the commandments of God and the
testimony of Jesus Christ.
Luke 12, gives hope to the 5 foolish virgins who have their loins girded about and there lamps burning as
they waited for the Lords return from the marriage “Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
and you yourselves like unto men that wait for their Lord, when He will return from the wedding; [marriage]
that when He cometh and knocks, they may open unto Him immediately” (Luke 12:35).
These are the called remnant, who we read about in Rev 12:17, who did not go to a place of safety or
protection with those that were given two wings of a great eagle. “And the dragon was wroth with the
woman, (church) and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the Commandments of
God, and have the testimony
of Jesus Christ.”
This Matthew 25 parable of the 10 virgins closes with verse 13 , “Watch therefore, for you know neither the
day nor the hour wherein the Son of Man comes.
When reading Revelation 19:3, keep in mind "the wedding parable of Matthew 22 that closes with “for
many are called but few are chosen.” The called are seen as the remnant who have the Commandments of
God and the testimony of Jesus, the Christ, that go thru the tribulation.
The chosen go to a place of safety and are seen as the ready bride at the wedding. These chosen barley first
fruits go to a place of protection and are shown why they are given that privilege! Because: “They overcame
Satan by the blood of the lamb, And by the word of their testimony; [word of truth] and they loved not their
lives unto the death” (Rev 12:11). They keep God's Holy Days at the right time, not seen a month late, by not
adding postponements, or following the tradition of men!
The remnant of Rev 12:17, seemed it did not matter which day Passover to the Feast of Tabernacles was
observed on. They were not ready to put the lambs blood on their door post of their mind at its appointed
time. They followed the postponement rule which are the traditions of Judaism! Tradition of men!
Keeping God's Holy Days at there appointed time, separates the chosen from the called - separates the
“Bride of Christ” from the remnant who are the guest at the “marriage supper”.
The Apostle John gives the bride to be encouragement: “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him:
for the Marriage of the lamb is come, and His wife has made herself ready. And to her was granted that she
should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of Saints” (Rev.
19:7-8).
Now in verse 9, John writes of the invited remnant who are the guests at the marriage feast. Blessed are
they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, these are the true sayings
of God." ☜
