Question and Answer
Question;
“I cannot see the validity in scripture for beginning the year sometimes before the Spring Equinox and
sometimes afterwards?” To begin the year in Spring one year and in the winter in another strikes my mind as
inconsistent with the absolute command He gave Moses in Ex 12:2. “This month shall be unto you the beginning
of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.” (KJV).
Answer;
That verse should read, “This [ new moon, #2320] shall be unto you the beginning of new moons: it shall be
the first [ new moon ] of the year to you.” KJV. Moon and Month are interchangeable words #2320. God calls
this beginning, new moon, “the first day,” in Gen 1,1, 3-5.
In Gen 1:14 is where we find the foundation and tools we are to use for building God’s calendar. “And God said,
Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and
for seasons, and for days, and years:” KJV. All of these tools are in motion, never at a point of standing still.
There are twelve regular 12 month years and 7 leap year months in a 19 year cycle. Every 19 years calendar
dates almost match up again. But they are not perfect to the hour or minute. We also recognize the sun, moon and
seasons are never standing still. Here on Earth, we watch plant life like, trees, flowers, lawns, shrubs and so on,
are always changing and growing daily and then they die. There is nothing God has created that stands
motionless.
Why am I saying this? what you already know. It is because of your concern over God’s established seasons!
The Psalms tell us, “He [God] appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down”(Ps 104:19).
KJV. Here we find, that the moon determines the yearly seasons - not the equinox’s The equinox’s [turn of
the year #8622] is to keep us always in the appointed time of the Spring and Fall Holy Days, so we don’t drift
off into keeping God’s Holy Day Feast out of their appointed Seasonal time. We have no control over what our
creator has put in motion.
Notice also, that God numbers [not names] His days and months. He does not call them by pagan names. Gen
1:5 God calls it the first day and from there He counts 6 days to His weekly 7th day Sabbath. He does not start
His weekly Sabbath or annual Holy Day Sabbath count from the fourth day of creation week, which many
Churches do by following the Hebrew calendar, which our Lord calls “the tradition of men.” This fourth day
in God’s creation week is when the crescent moon was made visible to the naked eye.
God’s word teaches a month has its limit of 29 or 30 days! That tells us we have to stay with in that framed
BORDER OF TIME for keeping God’s Spring and Fall Holy Days. He says in Lev 23:5-6, “ In the fourteenth
day of the first month at even is the LORD's Passover. And on the fifteenth day of the same [first] month is
the Feast of Unleavened Bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.” Both these days are
to be found within the framed time limit of 29 or 30 days. When we read 6 times in the Bible “this month” limits
what a month is, it puts a framed in month boundary around God’s Spring and Fall Holy Days.
Question; What all falls within this framed in border of time on God’s first month ?
Answer; 1) a new moon, 2) a full moon 3) spring equinox, 4) Passover, 5) night to be much
remembered, 6) seven days of Unleavened Bread, 7) beginning count to Pentecost. All of this are to be
witnessed and kept on the first framed in Spring month of 30 days. The equinox keeps all of these assignments
at their appointed time, “ Thou shalt keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread: thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven
days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib;” ( Ex 23:15) The spring and fall equinox’s
[turn] is our guide for keeping God’s Holy Days always at their appointed time and Season! On the next page
is a clear visual understanding of this, it is titled “God’s Planned Parameters.”
Spring turn is always in the area of March / April never April / May. We have to start the spring Holy Days
correctly, so we don’t end up keeping the last day of the Feast Of Tabernacles and Last Great Day in the rainy
late fall season of November. God’s fall Holy Days, like the spring Holy Days have to be observed with in the
frame work of a 30 day month! This is why we keep the new moon nearest the Spring Equinox! This keeps us
always in the correct appointed time and season!
Some Churches count their Holy Days from the Astronomical moon, some from the Crescent moon, and some
keep there count from one of these and always after the spring and fall equinox’s. All of these ways are not found
to be correct. “The Astronomical moon is called a FICTITIOUS moon by the Astronomical Institute of Utreeht
University.” “The Royal Observatory in England; said “0” [ zero] illumination happens HOURS before the
mean [middle] conjunction.” “Roper Mountain Science Center: said “ Here you are interested in the very
beginning of the “new phase,” so that pushed things back as much as nearly a full day.” Our Lord is a precise,
organized and exact God. He does not “estimate” when a true beginning conjunction happens! Using either of
these moons to start a Godly calendar, is not scriptural. If keeping any of these false moons to count from for
God’s Holy Days we would not be following God’s word. Gen 1:1,3-5
If keeping the Holy Day count always after the spring or fall equinox’s, like this year 2015 , we would find,
when attending the last day of the Feast Of Tabernacles and Last Great Day , will be in the beginning month
of November! This is the RAINY season in Palestine and it is 41 days away from the fall equinox [turn]
and well outside of a 30 day month - boundry! We are told in Exo 34: 22, “And thou shalt observe the feast
of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end.” “Years end” is the time
of the fall equinox, turn. This fall equinox turn always happens during the season of God’s 7th month fall Holy
Days.
Another thing we need always to remember is, equinox dates change from year to year. Sunrises to sunsets
changes day after day and year after year. The moon also rises and sets at different times.. None of these things
are in a constant blueprint of time. God’s created equinox’s keeps His calendar Holy Days always in their
proper framed in appointed time, and the moon keeps them in their correct seasons! “He appointed the moon
for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down”(Ps 104:19). KJV This is why the new moon can start before or
after the Spring equinox, it all depends on it being a twelve month regular year or a seventh month leap year.
The Holy Days are to always stay within a 30 day frame of time, never outside of that frame of time!
After establishing the first day of the month and year, Exo 12:2, count 14 days to Passover. If Passover [ the 14th
] is after the Spring equinox or on the same day as the Spring equinox you can continue to calculate the rest of
God’s Holy Days! If the Passover falls before the Spring turn [equinox] then it would not be kept in its appointed
time or season!
