God's Law of Love
“GOD'S LAW OF LOVE”
Why do we mortals think that we
Can love a God we cannot see;
When our own brothers that we hate--
God, in His image, did create?
Why do we have all this ambition,
Which leads to so much competition?
Why, with our brothers, do we fight?
Are we not equal in God's sight?
Just think of what our Lord has done.
That all His people may be one.
Christ said that He would be head;
A servant, must He be, instead.
If we don't learn to be more humble,
Right into Satan's hand we'll stumble.
God's law of love we must obey;
We dare not follow Satan's way.
Our Father called both me and you,
And gave us each a job to do:
To serve our God with all our might,
And always treat our brothers right.
For our election must be sure,
And every test we must endure.
The strait and narrow, we must trod,
As we prepare to meet our God.
